UN World Data Forum
IMPEC attend the first United Nations World Data forum that was hosted by statistic South Africa from 15 to 18 January 2017 in Cape Town South Africa. http://undataforum.org/ Director of IMPEC, Carlo Bakker visited several workshop and had interactions with Chief Directorate Strategic Information, Zeenat Ismail and STATS SA Statistic General Pali Lehohla, on the importance of using relevant and data for better decision-making.
Carlo Bakker; “successful service delivery, stand or falls with, governments and their professionals making the right decisions. A good decision is the result of at least two important resources; relevant & accurate data (bits) and skilled people (brains). Without bits and brains, any policy, process or program is doomed to fail or is at best a shot in the dark. Where in the past decisions could easily be based on experience and intentions, today we know that decision-making should be more evidence based. This is going to be achieved with the advantage of the availability of data intelligence. This way we have more reliable sources to result in better decision-making”.
IMPEC promise their clients “better decisions every day”. We invite you to participate in our survey, which reflects on your organisations decision-making process. After finalizing the survey we will contact you to discuss how informed decision making can also impact your organisation.
